Yunnan Province ranks first in the country in terms of the number of organic product certifications

By the end of December 2022, Yunnan Province had obtained 2,409 organic product certification certificates, ranking first in the country, up from second place last year, with a net increase of 1,122 certificates and a growth rate of 60.58%. There are now 1,717 certified organizations, up from second place to first.

Yunnan Province ranks first in China in terms of the area of organic tea cultivation.

To strengthen the construction of the consumer environment, the Market Supervision Administration of Yunnan Province issued a notice on carrying out the supervision and inspection of the effectiveness of the certification of provincial organic certified products in 2022, conducting on-site inspections of certified organizations and sampling and inspection of organic certified products, with organic tea as a key area for supervision and inspection. For five consecutive years, surveillance inspections have been conducted on organic products, with more than 500 batches of organic products sampled and inspected. The qualification rate of organic products has remained around 95%, ensuring the social credibility of organic product certification. According to the requirements of the General Administration of Market Supervision, market supervision departments at all levels in the province will carry out the “Organic Product Certification Promotion Week” activities in conjunction with actual situations, with a focus on the “one county, one industry” demonstration and characteristic counties in Yunnan Province in 2022. Through lectures on organic and green product knowledge, on-site promotion and other popular forms, the comprehensive development of the organic industry and implementation of green product certification achievements will be showcased.
